Тhe foster care couple Draginja and Petko Vasiljević were awarded the Gold Medal
On February 16, 2025, on the occasion of Sretenje – the National Day of the Republic of Serbia, the foster care couple Draginja and Petko Vasiljević were awarded the Gold Medal for exceptional merit and achievements in the field of foster care. The Center for Family Accommodation and Adoption in Novi Sad extends its congratulations to the Vasiljević foster family for this great recognition of their many years of work, effort, and great love for the children they care for.
Petko and Draginja have been involved in foster care for many years. A significant characteristic of this family is the high motivation of the foster parents to provide proper care for the children with much love and warmth. They have shown dedication and responsibility in their foster role, selflessly accepting children into their family while respecting their previous experiences. This approach has contributed to fostering warm emotional bonds with the children. They have dedicated themselves selflessly to each child with love and understanding, taking into account the individuality of each child. The foster family remains in contact with children who have become independent after staying with them in family accommodation. The Vasiljević couple regularly visits them, providing a safe base to which they can always return for support or parental advice.
