Panel discussion "Intermittent Family Accommodation-Support to the Biological Family Above All"


On Wednesday, October 23th 2024, at the Center for Social Work, in partnership with the Center for Family Accommodation and Adoption Novi Sad, a panel discussion entitled "intermittent Family Accommodation-Support to the Biological Family Above All" was held out of the need to further promote this service, which is one of the forms of support to biological families who take care of a child/children with developmental disabilities. 

In addition to the families of the service users, the panel was attended by service providers as well as representatives of stakeholders-institutions and organizations that contribute to improving the position of families caring for a child with disabilities. Among others, the panel discussion was attended by Ljiljana Koković, on behalf of the City Council for Social and Cild Protection and Care for Children and Family, and the welcome speech was given by the Acting Director of the Center for Family Accommodation and Adoption, Ivana Koprivica, and Jelena Zorić, Director of the Center for Social Work of the City of Novi Sad. The moderator of the forum, Jelica Marić Dević, spoke about the establishment and development of this service from the perspective of the service provider, and lawyer Maja Petrović spoke about the services of support to the biological family from the perspective of the Custodial Authority. The panel was also attended by Marija Marjanović, the mother of a child who is a service user, who shared her experiences with the participants. The closing of the panel was followed by a discussion.
