As part of the UN program "PRO - Local management for people and nature", the Association of Centers for Foster Care and Adoption implements the project "Improving the availability and quality of family accommodation". During the project implementation period, a number of activities are planned for the next two years, primarily training professionals from centers for family placement and adoption and centers for social work on standard and other forms of foster care (emergency foster care, occasional family care, foster care with intensive support ), as well as support for the training of foster carers at the local level. The project includes 18 priority LGUs that were chosen based on the recommendations of the Ministry of Family Care and Demography, namely: representatives of Centers for Foster Care and Adoption from: Niš, Kragujevac, Ćuprija and Miloševac and representatives of centers for social work from the following municipalities/cities: Pirot, Leskovac, Smederevo, Požarevac, Kraljevo, Čačak, Kruševac, Zaječar, Bor, Jagodina, Valjevo, Loznica, Šabac, Uzice. As part of the project, an accredited training program "Occasional family care" was implemented for 20 professionals from the aforementioned 18 priority LGUs. The training lasted two days and was held on April 10-11, 2024. in Hotel "Kragujevac" in Kragujevac. Professionals from 18 mentioned municipalities attended and for their attendance they earned the right to 15 active points needed for license renewal.
