On Wednesday June 27th 2016 at the premises of Centre for Social Welfare Novi Sad, within the project “Advisory – Therapeutic Services for Foster Children implemented by Centre for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad”, yet another workshop was organized. The project have been supported by the City of Novi Sad. The topic of the workshop was “Children’s needs and Children’s rights” and it was targeting representatives of foster as well as biological families.
The workshop was attended by 20 participants. The participants were presented with, through an interactive process, basic concepts of human and children's rights, after which the participants went through an exercise of human rights violation. After the exercise, in small groups, participants were asked to propose interventions against human rights violations. Within summarization they concluded that they struggle for human/children's rights on a daily bases and they revived the importance of foster parent role.
Foster parents were very active during the training and brought forth a lot of personal experiences. The project is planned to last until the end of this year and the next workshop is scheduled for the last week of August.
