Program of preparation and training for future foster carers is finished
During May Centre for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad started with program of preparation and training of candidates for foster carers. Program "Safe steps to foster" is consisted of 11 workshops. Program was implemented simultaneously in three groups of candidates. In the first group participated 24 candidates from Novi Sad, Beočin, Temerin and Bačka Palanka, the program was implemented at Children's Village "Dr Milorad Pavlović" in Sremska Kamenica. The second group included 19 candidates from Srbobran, an educational program was implemented at the Center for Social Work Srbobran. In the third group participated 14 candidates from Zrenjanin and Sečanj, the program was implemented in a small hall of the Cultural Center in Zrenjanin.
This is a regular regional activity of Center for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad since the beginning of it's work with service users in September 2015 . It is planned to train five more groups of candidates for foster carers by the end of 2016. In this way Centre for Foster Care and Adoption Novi Sad develops network of foster families in South Bačka, Srem and Srednjobanatski District. It is planed that during 2016. more than 100 families be included in process of preparation and training for foster carers.
